Well here it is one year later.  I created this blog a year ago, as a way to express my frustration of what was going on with our government – the “regime” – and the healthcare debate.  I was very upset about the prospect of what was going to happen with a government takeover of healthcare.

Despite the clear message from the American public,  the takeover still happened.  And now we are beginning to see the affects this will really have on us, and it does nothing to improve anyone’s health.

Biden sneered about the “good old days” when Republicans held the majority in Washington. But laid-off, unemployed and endangered Americans in the health care sector, the auto industry, and the oil, mining, gas, and fishing industries are no doubt wondering: What’s wrong with returning to the days when we had jobs and steady paychecks?

These are not the wealthy fat cats and Big Business titans Democrats love to demonize.

They’re employees of companies like Assurant Health, which announced last week that it would slash 130 jobs at its offices in Milwaukee and Plymouth, Minn., to prepare for costly Obamacare mandates.

They’re employees of medical device firms in Massachusetts, where officials say they’ll be forced to cut back on operational costs and jobs thanks to a little-noticed Obamacare tax on their products that goes into effect in 2013.

They’re employees of restaurants like White Castle and International House of Pancakes, whose executives say they will be forced into layoffs and premium hikes to cope with the federal law’s $3,000-per-employee penalty on companies whose workers pay more than 9.5 percent of household income in premiums for company-provided insurance.”

I worried about how I would be affected with my job.  Right now I have a PPO plan that has a $25 co-pay for office visits, $45 for specialist visits, $75 for urgent care and $200 for emergency room.  Wellness visits are $0 co-pay. I also have a flex spending account.   I expected benefits for next year to be similar but that I would pay more per paycheck.

I was wrong.

I just learned what our benefits for next year will be.

It’s worse.

It works like this:  I go to the Dr.  I pay the full visit price.  How many Dr office visits do you know of that are $25?  Ever look at the bill?  They are anywhere from $150 on up.  THEN  I have to submit a form to be reimbursed.  I am allowed up to $350 (per person) in reimbursements.  After that I have to pay $1300 more in medical expenses (deductible) before I am eligible for 80/20 (I pay 20% they pay 80%).  There will be no flex spending option, that would have helped pay for these expenses.   I’m a relatively healthy person, but things do happen.  Two years ago I ruptured a tendon and had to have foot surgery.  Under this plan I would not have been able to afford that.  I have  a daughter, who also is healthy but when she does get sick it’s not always during business hours, requiring a visit to urgent care.  Those visits are more expensive than a regular office visit.

So here I am, one year later – a year ago the majority of us were fighting this takeover, and now like every other American, I am facing the consequences of it’s forced passage.

I believe there is a new anxiety disorder that many of us are experiencing now.  It’s Obama-Traumatic Stress Disorder – OTSD.

With each passing day, I’m becoming more and more convinced that aliens have kidnapped the inhabitants of planet Earth and moved us to Htrae.  (In case a liberal happens to stumble onto this page, the previous sentence is what is known as sarcasm. )

Only in Bizarro World would the Speaker of the House claim that people getting unemployment checks would help the economy because they would be out spending the checks (as opposed to using the money to feed their families and keep their homes?)

Only in Bizarro World would a racist hate group not be called out as racist, while a group that has not been proven of any racism, be accused of it.

Only in Bizarro World would a person who supports healthcare rationing be put in charge of managing medicare/medicaid, after the American people were “promised” that there would be no rationing.

Only in Bizarro World would a foreign leader be allowed to address a joint session of congress, berate a state and be applauded for it.

Only in Bizarro World would the federal government decline to enforce federal laws on immigration, and then file suit against a state for passing a state law that all state and local police must enforce federal immigration laws.

Only in Bizarro World would the president give a shout out at the beginning of a speech, hours after a terrorist [man-made disaster] attack on a military base – before making any remarks about the attack.

Only in Bizarro World would federal agencies prevent clean up of an oil spill, to make sure the clean up wouldn’t affect the environment, meanwhile the oil destroys the environment.

Only in Bizarro World would the federal government issue a 6 month ban on offshore drilling (killing more jobs), have a federal judge throw out the ban, com back, try again, and have the ban thrown out again; only to again try and issue a ban.  Meanwhile, companies that are unsure about what will happen begin to move their drilling to other countries, ensuring that jobs will be lost either way.

The new normal.  Bizarro World.

Here we are, now over 80 days into this BP Oil spill disaster.  EIGHTY DAYS.   Let’s recap.

Lord of the Ass Clowns claims to have been on top of things since day one.

Really?

What’s his big solution?  Cap and Trade.  Yeah, that’ll fix it.

Meanwhile, the people of the Gulf coast who depend on fishing for their livelihood are without income, and many will most likely lose their businesses.

L. of A.C.  wants to make sure even more people are affected, so he wants a 6 month ban on drilling.  The court lifted a ban, so he tries again. July 8th, the court  told him NO. Again.

30 countries have offered their help.  Nope, can’t have that.  We have something called the Jones Act that stands in the way…but wait…it can be waived.  Nope, hasn’t done that.

Why not?

Has that question been answered?

Of course this is a complex issue that is much more than “plugging the damn hole”, but why is it so hard to say, “we have a major crisis here, let’s remove all road blocks and get every resource available to clean up the spewed oil, and get a team of engineers focused on what can be done to fix the pipe. “ and then get out of the way.

I’m torn between thinking L. of A.C. on the one hand is really a complete moron and has no clue how to handle anything, or on the on the hand that he really does want this to cause as much destruction as possible.

That’s why we have to send in the women to get the job done.  I have yet to see any one of our male Republican Congressmen and Senators stand up to the DSL* with any of the boldness and fearlessness that Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, Congresswoman Michelle Bachman and Gov. Sarah Palin have shown.  These women have no fear.  Just take a look at this latest video from Gov. Brewer:

She takes the DSL, drenches them with a heavy coating of “alinsky BBQ sauce” and cooks them over an open flame in true Arizona frontier style.

Then there is Sarah Palin, the DSL hits, her, she hits back twice as hard.  She posts her comments on the latest garbage from the DSL, they wet themselves.  It’s clear they see her as a real threat to their agenda.  It’s a beautiful thing to watch the DSL have a Palin induced meltdown!
